Here are some tips for streaming Alive 90.5 on your Android smart phone or tablet.
- There are a number of free apps available on Google Play that work well with our stream. Try xiialive, Winamp or TuneIn Radio. In all of them you’ll be able to search for Alive 90.5 and add us to your favourites.
You can also use any other app that supports what is known as SHOUTcast.
We have no relationship with any of these apps, so if you have any problems please contact the app publisher.
- In earlier versions of Android you will be able to stream directly from the Internet Browser. Just navigate to our Listen Live page: alive905.com.au/listenlive.
However if you’re using the Google Chrome browser on Android then this will not work as Adobe have decided the Flash Player will not not be supported on Android 4.1 and above. (Android 4.1 is known as Ice Cream Sandwich.)
- Alive 90.5 provides two different SHOUTcast streams: MP3 and AAC+. MP3 is mono and AAC+ is stereo. They both run at 64Kbps. When you’re using one of the SHOUTcast apps listed above you’ll see both streams and you can choose to run either one.
