NSW Health Vaccination Campaign
On-time vaccination gives your child the best protection. Vaccines work best when they’re given at the recommended ages. The childhood schedule is carefully designed to make sure children achieve the highest level of protection for each disease. Delaying vaccines can leave your child unprotected during important stages of development. If your child is behind, that’s okay. You can catch up. Talk to your GP, nurse or Aboriginal Medical Service about the next steps. Vaccination is one of the safest and most effective ways to protect your child’s health. In Year 7, your child can receive the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine and the diphtheria–tetanus–pertussis (whooping cough) (dTpa) vaccine. In Year 10, they can receive the meningococcal ACWY vaccine as part of the school vaccination program. These vaccines are free and are given at school by trained NSW Health nurses. Make sure you provide consent for your child’s routine school vaccinations — it’s quick and easy to do online.
The human papillomavirus (HPV) is a very common viral infection that is spread through skin-to-skin contact. All boys and girls aged 12-13 should have this important vaccine. The HPV vaccine protects your child against HPV related cancers and illnesses. This vaccine is given to the Year 7 age group because it provides the best immune response and maximises protection against infection. Our New Outside Broadcast Van
Alive 90.5 FM has recently acquired a new outside broadcast van which has broadcasting & audio equipment, solar panels, generators, an awning & Starlink, allowing for a mobile broadcast anywhere in the community.
This project was funded by the NSW Government through The Community Building Partnership, Community Broadcasting Foundation and the Hills Shire Council.
